glowing of the candle,
from the shadow on the wall,
I watch for you in every movement,
and hear your footsteps in the hall.
Can you sit and spend the evening,
as the portals open wide?
Ancestral dead, I bid you welcome;
most recent dead, I pray, abide.
When you
come, I sense your presence;
I put my hand out in the air.
A moment, then, we stand united,
palm to palm, while waiting there.

Samhain 2008
Dean and Elwynn were guests at our Samhain ritual this year. We began our celebration by hosting a "Dumb Supper," a first for our group. It was such a success, I believe that it will become an annual event for us!
The Dumb Supper was followed by carving small pumpkins for the Watchtowers and a larger one for our altar. We had some major laughs playing with "scratch-off divinations," Definitely worth the $1 investment at Ocean State Job Lot!

Anyway, it was just amusing stuff, and we went around the table reading our "fortunes" out loud. Something to lighten the mood after the somberness of the Dumb Supper.
We also enjoyed rune and tarot readings performed by Otto and Efthalia. Thanks for providing REAL insights to the "other side," guys.
During our actual ritual, we toasted to those who have passed on and said a prayer of offering as the veil between the worlds was at its thinnest.
