as you walk among us,
at the tolling of this eve,
I see your face beyond the sunset
and hear your voice upon the breeze.

glowing of the candle,
from the shadow on the wall,
I watch for you in every movement,
and hear your footsteps in the hall.
Can you sit and spend the evening,
as the portals open wide?
Ancestral dead, I bid you welcome;
most recent dead, I pray, abide.
When you
come, I sense your presence;
I put my hand out in the air.
A moment, then, we stand united,
palm to palm, while waiting there.
I miss you

"Upon Each Samhain"
Samhain
Dorienne was a guest at our Samhain ritual this year. We began our celebration by carving small pumpkins for the Watchtowers and a larger one for our altar. Psyche made a beautiful butterfly-pentagram Coven pumpkin this year.
Afterwards, we hosted our second annual "Dumb Supper." As always, it was a moving experience, as Psyche can attest to with the coldness next to her chair...
The Dumb Supper was followed a round of "psychometry." Each guest was asked to bring an item that had a "history." Each person held the item and told their impressions which were confirmed if they were correct. It was quite an interesting exercise. Thanks to all who participated.
To lighten the mood after the somberness of the Dumb Supper, we played the "Donut on a String" game. The winners were Dorienne, Psyche, and Ozius.
During our actual ritual, we toasted to those who have passed on and said a prayer of offering as the veil between the worlds was at its thinnest.
I miss you, Nannie. Thank you for joining us on this night.
